NADIA ROSEVA GREEN
ROADS /MA FINAL WORK 2005/
My coming into the art
medal field happened as unexpectedly as most nice things. It was a smooth and
natural culmination of skills, desires and circumstances. But it would not have
been possible if I had not met Prof. B. Nikolov whom I owe a lot and whose art
has been a great inspiration with its philosophy, sensitivity, unexpectedness
and esthetics.
During my short stay at the Medallic
Art Studio at the Sofia National Academy of Art, I understood that one of the
most important things is to constantly experiment and look for new forms of expression
in my work.
I have not followed a specific subject while working on my diploma project but have tried to discover and work in different directions using new visual elements and interpretations. In the developmental stages several series were formed, each with its own vision and closure in itself but with the unifying idea of the difference.
The conscious lack of a topic in my work allowed me to give myself to the stream of consciousness. I unexpectedly saw images which effortlessly formed into the plaster. Subconsciously these images have always existed in me due to my upbringing, values and life experiences and through the art medal they found their expression.
This variety formed a creative project which took the name Roads, roads not only towards a spiritual but also a professional perfection.
