Deconstruction of a circle /BA FINAL WORK 2005/

objects
Cast iron, 100 mm
The circle is the most important and popular
geometrical form that symbolizes perfection.
The circle has no beginning and
no end, direction or orientation. Through the deconstruction I disrupt the state
of peacefulness and give it a dynamic thus connecting the ideal with the real.
The change in the circle starts with a small interference with its form that aims
to alter its static state. With the development of the series this interference
alters our idea of a circle. The deconstruction continues and gets even stronger
from the use of non-traditional materials of different natures.
The new circles
provoke the viewers not only with their shape but also materials.
