LUBA ATANASOVA
KEY
/BA FINAL WORK 2005/
The key is a small and ordinary object but charged with great symbolism.
The one who owns the key has the power to connect and disconnect. A keyhole without a key is a door that could not be opened, a secret that could not be discovered
The little opening attracts and seduces but only the one who has the key can get in. All our lives we look for keys for doors but often we remain captives of our own ideas and looking for a solution it turns out we’ve followed an illusion. The unreachable always has a magnetic force even if it is something ordinary.
The keyholes in the works symbolize the obstacles that make people move ahead. Even if a person can not enter through a locked door, on his/her journey he/she passes though many other doors.
The keyholes have no keys because everyone carries the key in themselves.
